Giulio Ranzo is Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of AVIO SpA since October 2, 2015.
Previously, Giulio Ranzo was Avio Aero’s Director of Strategy, Marketing & Government Affairs. He has been in Avio since 2011 and has held various positions as SVP Corporate Strategy (2011-2013), Investor Relations Officer (2012) and Board Member (2013).
He has also managed Avio’s Initial Public Offering preparation and clearance process in 2011-2012, the merger with General Electric Aviation in 2013 and the post-merger integration in 2014. In the period 2011-2013, he has been Board Member of Europropulsion, the ASL (Airbus Safran Launchers) – Avio Joint Venture for Space Propulsion.
Between 2007 and 2011 he has been CFO and co-General Manager of the Italian activities of Cementir Holding, a company operating in the building materials sector.
He has started his career in Booz Allen Hamilton, a strategy consulting company leader in the Aerospace&Defense Sector, where he has held the roles of Associate, Senior Associate, and Principal between 2000 and 2007. In those years he has developed business strategy projects for major European companies and institutions operating in Commercial and Military Aerospace, Space Launchers and Technologies, Defense Electronics, Business Jets and General Aviation.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Rome (1995) and a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering (2000) from a joint program with the University of California San Diego, where he has worked as Graduate Research Assistant between 1996 and 1999.
Married and father of two children, he is 44 and speaks fluent English and French.
